
Warmouth


The Warmouth (lat. Lepomis gulosus) is widely distributed in reservoirs throughout almost the entire territory of the United States. Prefers habitats with a muddy bottom and abundant aquatic vegetation. It is a medium-sized fish, strong build, with a large head and mouth. It differs from other sunfish with dark red-brown stripes coming from the eyes. Adults weigh on average from 0.1 to 0.6 kg. Maximum weight is 1.1 kg
