The Ukrainian Lamprey lives in the basins of the Dnieper, Dniester, Don and Kuban Rivers. It has a worm-shaped, elongated, scale-free body. The color is usually dark gray with a light abdomen. Adult species average 15 to 20 cm in length. It prefers areas, which are shaded by coastal vegetation with rapid currents and rocky bottom.
