Atlantic bluefin tuna
Thunnus thynnus is a schooling pelagic fish. It inhabits the waters of the Atlantic Ocean. It migrates seasonally and usually stays near the surface, but can descend to depths of up to 400 meters. It is one of the brightest, fastest and largest fish. The tuna has a streamlined, torpedo-shaped body colored in deep blue. The belly is silvery white. Adults can be more than 2 m long and weigh over 250 kg. The record length of one of the specimens caught was 5 meters.
