

Siberian Sterlet


The habitat of the Siberian Sterlet (Acipenser ruthenus marsiglii) is limited to the Ob-Irtysh Basin and the Yenisei River. This medium-sized fish is part of the sturgeon family; it has an elongated, spindle-shaped body. Its color is variable and depends on habitat conditions. The Siberian Sterlet can be caught using float, bottom and some spinning rigs.
