Greenland shark
Somniosus microcephalus can be found in the northern areas of the Atlantic Ocean, Arctic Ocean and White Sea. It is often found in shallow depths close to the coast. The Greenland shark has a large, massive cylindrical body, a short rounded snout with thin lips and very small eyes. The color of the fish varies from pale gray to dark brown. The body color is generally uniform, but there may be white spots or dark stripes on the back. Can reach up to 7.5 m in length with a weight of more than a ton. It is not normally targeted but sometimes caught by accident.
