Smallmouth bass
The Smallmouth bass (lat. Micropterus dolomieu) is a freshwater fish that is a member of the Micropterus (black bass) genus. It lives in the waters of the Great Lakes, as well as in the St. Lawrence and Mississippi rivers. It can also be found in many rivers and flowing lakes in Canada. It prefers to stay in deep places in the reservoir. The smallmouth bass has a high, laterally compressed body. The color is greenish-bronze, with vertical stripes on the sides. Adult fish weigh about 1-3 kg on average. The maximum weight is around 5.5 kg.
