Atlantic saury
Scomberesox saurus is a commercial fish living in the Atlantic Ocean, northwards reaching the coasts of Norway, Sweden and Iceland. Leads a gregarious lifestyle, forming dense shoals with a positive response to light. Keeps in the upper layers of water, usually near the surface. As a rule, it does not go deeper than 40 m except during the wintering period. It's body is elongated and covered with fine scales. The back is blue-black. The sides are lighter in colour and it's abdomen is silvery-white with light brown fins. The dorsal fin is shifted toward the caudal fin. The mouth is large with elongated jaws. Adults are generally no larger than 50 cm in length and 1 kg in body weight.
