Red king crab

It is most abundant in the North Pacific Ocean and also in the Sea of Okhotsk. In the twentieth century, Kamchatka crabs were released into the Barents Sea and by the beginning of the twenty-first century they had already spread widely in the waters off Norway. They prefer soft bottoms and depths of two meters or more. The color of the king crab shell is brown with purple spots on the sides and yellow-white underneath. It is not called a king crab for nothing. The legs of the largest specimens can be almost 2 meters long and weigh 13 kg.
