Sockeye Salmon
Oncorhynchus nerka is a representative of the salmon family. In the territories of Russia, this fish is common on the western and eastern coast of the Kamchatka Peninsula, in the Kuril Islands and Chukotka water bodies. The body shape of the sockeye salmon resembles a chum salmon. During the spawning period, the body of the salmon turns red and crimson. The head becomes bright green, the jaws elongate, while the upper jaw bends down like a beak and a hump grows on the back. In females, these changes are much less pronounced. When fishing for sockeye, you can use both float and spinning equipment.
