Atlantic mackerel
Scomber scombrus is found in the North Atlantic Ocean in large schools that range from the surface to depths of 500 m. It has an elongated, spindle-shaped body with a pointed head and a thin tail. The main body color is silver. On the greenish back, there is a pattern in the form of spots and stripes. The usual size of an adult specimen is 30 cm, but specimens as large as 60 cm have been caught. For catching mackerel, a multi-hook paternoster with small baits is used. It is also often used as bait.
