Largemouth bass
The Largemouth bass (lat. Micropterus salmoides) is a freshwater fish that belongs to the Micropterus (black bass) genus. It lives in fresh water bodies of North America east of the Rocky Mountains from Canada to the Gulf of Mexico. It has also been successfully acclimatized in many countries of Europe and the Asia-Pacific region. It prefers to stay in snag-filled deep areas of the reservoir. The largemouth bass has a high, compressed body. The back is dark, olive-green. On the sides there is a dark longitudinal stripe of irregular shape. Adult fish weigh about 1-5 kg. Maximum weight is around 10 kg
