This fish is an artificially created hybrid of carp and crucian. It can only be mistaken for a crucian carp until it reaches sexual maturity. An adult fish resembles a crucian carp only in the shape of its head and fins. Its body, coloring, size and the shape of its scales resemble carp. The F1 reaches sexual maturity around the third year of life. Adult fish can weigh up to 5 kg.
