

Kaluga


Huso dauricus is a representative of the sturgeon family. The Kaluga's main habitat is the Amur River basin. It is also found in the coastal zone of the Sea of Okhotsk and some rivers flowing into it. This fish has a powerful, cylindrical body. The main body color of the Kaluga is greenish-gray and the belly is lighter. The maximum confirmed adult length is 5.6 m. The Kaluga is a predator with a diet consisting of small invertebrates and fish. Various types of float, bottom or spinning rigs are used for Kaluga fishing.
