American plaice
This subspecies of halibut flounder is found in the North Atlantic off the coast of Norway, Iceland and the Faroe Islands, and in the Barents and Kara Seas. It is usually found in depths of between 5-250 m. The amrican plaice has a moderately tall body. The ocular side is greyish-brown with dark spots. The blind side is greyish milky. The adult fish can reach a length of 54 cm.
