Atlantic footballfish
A predatory deep-sea fish. Widespread in tropical, subtropical and temperate oceanic waters. Occurs at depths of more than 100 m. The coloration of the Atlantic footballfish varies from dark brown to black. The spiny, long dorsal fin ray has long luminous tentacles that serve to attract prey. Females are considerably larger than males, reaching a length of 80 cm and a weight of 11 kg. It's a rare treat to catch this fish for your collection.
