

Northern wolffish


Found in the Arctic Ocean and the northern Atlantic Ocean. It is also found in the Barents Sea, Norwegian Sea and North Sea. Prefers benthic life. Occurs at depths of up to 500 m. The long body of this predator is taller than other wolffish, and painted a rich gray-blue. The largest specimens may be up to 1.5 m long and weigh up to 20 kg. It is most often caught on special bottom tackle with rattles and brightly colored attractants.
