Butterfly Peacock bass
The Butterfly Peacock bass (lat. Cichla ocellaris) is a large freshwater fish, a representative of the Cichla genus of American cichlids. Its natural habitat is the countries of South America, including the Amazon River basin. It is also found in the waters of North America and Asia. It is a very aggressive and strong predator. A powerful rod is required to catch it. The peacock bass has a high body, painted in golden or bright olive color with three vertical dark stripes. On the tail there is a characteristic round spot with a bright outline. The average weight of an adult specimen is about 1-2 kg. The maximum reaches 7 kg.
