

Beluga


Valuable commercial fish. It inhabits the basins of the Caspian, Black, Azov and Adriatic seas. The diet of the beluga is dominated by fish. Beluga juveniles feed on mollusks and crustaceans. The Beluga has a rounded body and a short pointed head. The back and sides are ashy gray, the belly is light. Beluga is not for nothing called the king-fish, its weight can reach tons, and the length exceeds four meters. The average weight of the beluga found in the Volga-Caspian region is 65-150 kg.
