Black scabbardfish
The Black scabbardfish (lat. Aphanopus carbo) is a species of marine ray-finned fish. It is distributed in the Northeast Atlantic. It is also found off the southern coast of Europe. It lives in the water column at depths from 150 to 500 m. The body is long, slender, with a small, well-developed caudal fin. The coloration is dark with a dull copper tint on the sides. Maximum body length 130 cm. Weight 7 kg.
